ABOUT

I’ve been in charge of all AFL Media’s  ( Melbourne Australia ) creative audio since 2011. Working directly with the Marketing, Events and Editorial teams, as weIl as our advertising agency Cummins, I’m responsible for sound design and mixing of award-winning films, documentaries and social media content, plus TV and Radio commercials. 

Away from football I also regularly work on creative projects, allowing me to indulge my passion for drama. Recent work includes being a Sound Editor (mainly foley) for series 3 and 4 of Transformers Rescue Bots (52 episodes), plus Dialogue Editor and Pre-Mixer on 26 eps of Ku Ku Harajuku (executive produced by Gwen Stefani) being 2 lead sound designer on two of them.

Among the award winning productions I have been involved in is the Australian Feature Film Snowtown, in which I was responsible for dialogue editing and foley premixing. You will also hear my work in quite a few award winning short films and documentaries. 

My network television credits include mixing Friday Front Bar on the Seven network, plus the Block and the reality TV series Search For a Supermodel. Among my international assignments are PGA Golf in Fiji and the Castrol Racing Academy in Dubai.

I started my career at Southern Cross Ten in Bendigo in 1996, I continue to be passionate about my work and love dealing with directors and producers to help bring their productions to life with sound.

I had the pleasure of working with Mark creatively on my short film, Daughter - a social justice film exploring gendered violence and victim blaming in society. The film, which was shot in St Kilda required a sound design mix that was highlighting the everyday sounds of the area, with a sinister and at times tense feel. With the film showing the difference between day and night in St Kilda which comes to a melancholy end, Mark's work enchanted the film on so many levels and added the right amount of eerie and tension at all the right moments. After I converted the film to DCP for cinema viewing I heard Mark's work at full capacity and to be honest, i was truly moved and also left shaken by the film because this was the first time I was able to hear it as Mark intended. I had the chance to really appreciate how wonderful Mark's work was and how invaluable it was to my film.

Mark is professional and easy to communicate with and he knows his stuff - he made suggestions to what I wanted and when I just let him go ahead and play with the sound he came back with a mix that was fitting to the project and to my vision. I would work with Mark again in the future and recommend him to anyone wanting a quality sound mix for their project.
